Kegworth Family Fun Day & Food Festival 2018
Join us on Saturday 2nd June at Sideley Park, Kegworth for our FREE Family Fun Day and Food Festival, 10am-4pm.
With a wide range of food stalls, you'll be sure to find something that treats your taste buds! Hot food will be available from multiple stalls on the day as well as gift sets and cooking kits to take home for those budding chefs and foodies.
Enjoy our live chef demonstrations from talented, local chefs in the Food Marquee. You can even get hands on and cooking during the workshops in the afternoon.
Don't forget to visit the variety of gift stalls and local businesses who will be joining us to give you the opportunity to find unique take home gifts and to offer their services.
There are plenty of children's activities available including live animal handling, circus workshops, sand crafting and wildlife activities. They can even have their face painted at the One Kegworth stall!
Live entertainment on offer will be varied and includes our new for this year Steel Drum Band who are very talented and the return of the vikings and their live battles! Don/'t miss our other acts and performances which will be sure to give everyone a chance to watch something they can enjoy.
You are welcome to bring your dog along to the dog show and treat them at the pet-related stalls including handmade dog treats and beautiful dog accessories. Why not let them enjoy a tasty snack while watching the dog agility demonstrations?
For any history enthusiasts, don/'t miss the chance to see one of the OLDEST working portable steam engines, as well as the return of the famous organ, and have a taste from the apple pressing area.
Inflatables will be available for the children and include a large slide and a very special inflatable transporter! After all that play time, the kids will be sure to work up an appetite for an ice cream, whilst soaking up the sun in the newly re-designed park.
Finally, don't forget when you purchase a programme for 50p from the One Kegworth stand you will be entered into a prize draw to win 1st prize £50, 2nd prize £25 and 3rd prize £10.

This event will be held in the Kegworth Village Hall, tickets for Thursday 15th are £10 with connection at £9; Tickets for Friday are £12.50.

Join us on Saturday 3rd June 2017 for a FREE family fun day out which will be kicked off with the very well known Breaston Highlanders!
We have lots of arts and crafts stalls and local businesses coming on the day with many offering fun and exciting activities for you to try.
New for this year are cookery demonstrations and competitions led by TV chef and Master Chef quarterfinalist Matt Guy, who will also be leading Kegworth's first ever food fair in conjunction with One Kegworth.
There will be lots of entertainment for the children including children's rides, animal handling sessions and theatre performances to get involved in.
For the adults, we have the International Chorus Champions called Grand Central Chorus performing for us along with lots of other acts scheduled in.
Even your furry friends can join in the fun with a companion dog show, canine scentwork workshops, meet the wolfdog sessions and agility demonstrations.
Don't forget that Kegworth will be taken over by the Vikings again this year- why not have a walk around their camp and be spectator to their battles throughout the day. Who will win the Battle of Kegworth?

For the adults, we have lovely locally bakes cakes, jewellery and scarves, bric a brac, tombola's, plant stalls, as well as refreshments and ice cream.
We also have the Amazing Bookmark Competition - try your hand crafting 50 words that tells all what your memories of Kegworth are, The theme of the competition is Kegworth: what do you love about Kegworth? what makes it special? What are your Kegworth memories? Entries can be in any style as long as they fit with the theme.
Don't forget that Kegworth will be taken hosting a Bring Your Own Victim for the Stocks - all in aid of Children's Air Ambulance.

We are seeking 'story' submissions of up to 50 words. The theme of the competition is Kegworth: what do you love about Kegworth? what makes it special? What are your Kegworth memories? Entries can be in any style as long as they fit with the theme.
Submissions will be judged and four winners will have their stories published on a personally illustrated bookmark.
The winning stories will be printed on to bookmarks and distributed around Kegworth.
Competition launch: 28th February
Competition closing date: 20th April
Winners Announced: 3rd May
Bookmark distribution launch date: Early May
Rules
Entries must be no more than 50 words and can be poetry, fiction or non-fiction.
Entry to Bookmark Fiction is free of charge. and limited to 5 per person
No corrections or alterations can be made after receipt.
Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant.
The competition is open to children and adults - categories: Under 7, 7-10 , 11- 17 and over 18!!
Entries will be read and judged anonymously; entrant's names and contact details should not appear anywhere on their submissions. The submissions must be free of all personal information about the author. This includes age and address.
Email submissions will be acknowledged by email, postal entries by post.
All entrants must agree to have their work published on a bookmark to be distributed around the Kegworth and surrounding areas.
Entry means acceptance of the competition rules and agreement with the competition's Terms and Conditions. Entries that fail to comply with the entry rules and requirements may be disqualified.
Submitting your entry by email
Submissions must be emailed as attachments to hello@ONEKEGWORTH.co.uk with COMPETITION TITLE submission in the subject line. Name, contact number and postal address and category (age) must be in the main body of the email. No identifying information must appear on your attached submission of 50 words. If the email address used to submit to COMPETITION TITLE is not your own, please provide your own email address with your contact details. Entries must be typed in a clear font such as Ariel or Times New Roman and saved as a word document or PDF.

Entries can be delivered to the Kegworth Community Library, Kegworth Parish Council Office , Kegworth Primary School . Entries must be typed on the submission form in A4 with contact details, including name, contact number, address , category (age) and email if you have one, on a separate sheet of paper.
