I am a veterinary student in my 5th year of study at the University of Nottingham and have lived in the village for 4 years. I have helped to organise lots of different events but my primary focus is on promoting a sense of community and wellbeing. My aim is to provide a link with Kegworth village and the University of Nottingham because there are over 800 students who live in the village. My role with One Kegworth is Events Manager for the June event and providing support for the other events held across the year.
My name is Julie Cooke, and Chair of the ONE Weekend in Kegworth Steering Group. As a resident of Kegworth for 30 years i am still finding gems of people, groups, businesses and a vast network of support groups who are so keen to support this event. My family now all live in/around the village and can always be seen roped into 'events'. I run a small boutique catering businesses and just love flowers!!
My name is Heather Thornton. I am the Director of Sales and Marketing at the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Yew Lodge Hotel since 2002 and a resident of Kegworth since 2006. Chair of Tourism for North West Leicestershire Promotions. Known for being a Hotelaholic! My role on the steering group is to support the team where I can.
I teach mechanics to secondary school children in an alternative provision and am the chairman of the allotments on Long Lane in Kegworth. I have lived in the village for 4 years and joined One Kegworth in 2016 to help with logistics and planning for events. I really enjoy getting involved with the community and want to help Kegworth develop a sense of community spirit. I enjoyed seeing how much fun everyone had at our June 2016 event and look forward to seeing you at our 2017 events.
Moved to Kegworth in 2015 it's a fantastic village to live and be part of. I am owner of Group Piex, a web development business specialising in bespoke website development and exclusive seo services to local and worldwide clients. My contribution for One Kegworth is the logo, website and system, plus responsibilities consist of website management and web support.
My name is Hannah Wardropper. I have recently got married and spent 7 months travelling around the world for our honeymoon. My next adventure is to be a mum! I am expecting my first child on 8th February and I cant wait. My role on the steering group is to manage the social media platforms and help spread the word.
I moved to the village in 2006 having lived and worked in Spain for over twenty years. I now work in the village in an administrative role but I am always at hand to offer any help in Spanish. As well as the One Kegworth projects, I also support the Kegworth Library and Kegworth Museum. I am proud to be part of Kegworth and hope to see many of you at the forthcoming events!
